March has a funny way of sneaking up on me.
One minute my home is full of winter coziness… and the next I’m walking through the house thinking:
“Why does it still feel like February in here?” 😂

That realization sent me straight to my craft space because if there’s one thing I love, it’s creating seasonal decor that makes my home feel fresh, warm, and inviting.
This time?
A St. Patrick’s Day door sign ☘️✨
And honestly… this project was so satisfying.
✨ The Project Inspiration
For this craft, I used a design from Atomm that I absolutely loved:
☘️ St. Patrick’s Day Door Sign – Pot of Gold
If you’d like to make this project too, you can find the file here:
Atomm has such a great variety of laser-ready designs — perfect for seasonal decorating. Be watching for a video on how to use Atomm.com soon.
🛠 Materials Needed for This Project
One of the best parts of laser crafting is how simple the supply list can be.
Here’s what I used:
🌿 Basswood (1/8″ or 3mm)
Basswood is one of my favorite materials for laser projects because:
✔ Cuts beautifully
✔ Smooth surface for painting
✔ Lightweight (great for door signs!)
It gives such a clean, professional finish.
🔥 Laser Cutter
Of course, the star of the show.
Whether you’re using an xTool, Glowforge, or another machine, this project cuts quickly and cleanly. Watching all the pieces come together is always the most satisfying part.
🎨 Craft Paint
This is where the magic happens. I use acrylic paint or craft paint.
For St. Paddy’s Day decor, I love using:
☘️ Green
✨ Gold and Yellow
🤍 Black
Painting truly brings personality to the piece.
🖌 Paint Brushes
A mix of brushes works best:
✔ Small detail brush
✔ Medium flat brush
✔ Optional sponge brush for smooth coverage
Good brushes make a huge difference in the final look.
☘️ Why I Love Seasonal Crafts
There’s something special about decorating your home with pieces you’ve made yourself.
It isn’t just decor.
It’s:
✨ Creativity
✨ Relaxation
✨ A little joy woven into your space
And honestly? Crafting is one of my favorite ways to slow down and enjoy the process.
